Income portfolios
Markets go up and markets come down. Inflation goes up and inflation comes down. All this happens with alarming regularity. And guarantees cost a large part of your precious retirement capital. Within this environment, how do you ensure that your retirement capital stays intact to secure you a retirement income on which you can depend?
With these conundrums in mind, Prudential Portfolio Managers has developed a series of income portfolios. These income portfolios provide you with the opportunity to choose an income level which meets your personal circumstances, with the added requirement that the integrity of your investment capital be maintained as well. At no time is the income level or the capital value guaranteed. However, both aspects are actively managed, to ensure that the required targets are met as closely as possible over time. Living Annuity This option provides you with an investment for your compulsory lumpsums, which are received – usually at retirement – from your approved retirement fund. In terms of the rules governing these funds, a certain portion of the retirement benefit has to be used to purchase a pension or annuity for at least your lifetime. This annuity is administered by Maitland Fund Services (Pty) Ltd. Voluntary Option This option meets your needs if you have voluntary lumpsums available to invest and if you want to meet certain income requirements, without compromising the stability of the original capital. There is no minimum period of investment so that capital [or a portion thereof] can be cashed in at anytime. The voluntary annuity is administered by Maitland Fund Services (Pty) Ltd.
